Digital Branch Enablement

Helping banks build smaller, smarter, full-service digital branches.

4POWER helps banks design, deploy and operate compact digital branch formats that extend physical banking reach without the cost, space and staffing model of a conventional branch.

The bank owns the customer relationship.

The bank owns the brand experience.

4POWER provides the technology, integration, infrastructure and managed service layer that makes the format work.

The opportunity

More places to bank. Fewer branches to build.

These are bank-branded digital branches or service points, built around self-service machines, assisted service and centralised remote support.

Conventional branch expansion is expensive, slow and property-heavy. 4POWER enables banks to deploy a lighter physical banking model.

Conventional branch expansion

Expensive, slow and property-heavy. Every new site requires:

  • A larger footprint
  • Full staffing
  • Teller counters
  • Back-office infrastructure
  • Cash handling arrangements
  • Security
  • Fit-out
  • Ongoing operating cost
Digital branch or service point

A lighter physical banking model, built around:

  • Self-service machines
  • Assisted service
  • Centralised remote support
  • Smaller spaces
  • Lighter fit-outs
  • Fewer on-site staff
Where it can go

A digital branch can be placed in convenient locations, giving customers access to core banking services while reducing the bank's dependency on large branch premises.

Malls
Forecourts
Markets
Campuses
Transport hubs
Industrial areas
Residential communities
Secondary towns

The objective is not to replace every branch.

The objective is to give banks a new expansion format between a full branch and no branch at all.

The approach

Built around the bank's service strategy.

Every bank has a different branch strategy, customer base, regulatory environment and service mix.

4POWER does not offer a fixed, one-size-fits-all branch concept. We help each bank define the right digital branch format for its market.

The format, layout, service scope, staffing model, branding and commercial structure are agreed with the bank and adapted to each deployment.

We provide the self-service platform, devices, integrations, monitoring tools, managed operations layer and deployment expertise required to make the digital branch operate as a reliable banking channel.

What the bank can offer through the format

A wide range of banking journeys.

A 4POWER-enabled digital branch can support a wide range of banking journeys, depending on the bank's systems, regulatory approvals and selected deployment scope.

10 of 10 journeys shown

Cash deposit

Bulk cash acceptance, note validation, denomination recognition, serial-number capture where enabled, receipt generation and same-session credit to account or wallet.

Cash withdrawal

Card and cardless withdrawal through ATM or recycler infrastructure.

Bill payments

Utilities, school fees, government collections, tax payments, airtime, merchant billers and other configured payment services.

Account opening

Guided digital onboarding with ID scan, biometric capture, customer data capture and account creation workflow.

KYC update

Document re-scan, biometric re-verification, customer information refresh and submission into the bank's KYC or core banking workflow.

Loan applications

Eligibility checks, application capture, document upload, offer review, acceptance and routing into the bank's loan origination process.

Customer service

Statement requests, dispute logging, query capture, service requests, assisted support and live video escalation where required.

Cheque deposit

Cheque image capture and handoff into the bank's clearing workflow.

Card services

Card issuance, activation, PIN set/reset, temporary blocking and other card-related journeys where supported.

Mobile money and transfers

Wallet cash-in/cash-out, account transfers, third-party transfers and digital statement services.

Service layers

Three layers of service.

Self-service layer

The self-service layer is the foundation of the digital branch.

It handles the high-volume, repeatable transactions that would otherwise consume teller and service desk capacity. This can include deposits, withdrawals, payments, onboarding, KYC updates, card services, loan applications and customer service requests.

Depending on the site and security model, the self-service layer can operate beyond normal banking hours, including 24×7 availability.

4POWER can help banks develop multiple digital branch formats using the same underlying technology and operating model.

    What 4POWER delivers

Across the full digital branch lifecycle.

4POWER supports banks from concept to live operation — covering format design, location planning, landlord coordination, fit-out, technology deployment, integration, managed operations and ongoing optimisation.

This allows the bank to focus on its customer strategy, regulatory approvals and service proposition, while 4POWER manages the execution layers required to bring each digital branch or service point to life.

    The platform

    Managed through a central platform.

Each deployed site can be connected to 4POWER's managed operations platform. This gives the bank central visibility across the estate.

    Commercial models

    Structured around your rollout strategy.

4POWER can support different commercial structures depending on the bank's rollout strategy and capital preference. Digital branch infrastructure can be deployed through outright purchase, lease, shared investment or transaction-linked commercial models.

This allows banks to begin with pilot sites, measure demand, validate the operating model and then scale into a wider digital branch network.

    Outright purchase

The bank acquires the infrastructure directly and holds it on balance sheet.

    Capital commitment — highest

    Lease

Infrastructure is leased over an agreed term, spreading cost across the rollout.

    Capital commitment — moderate

    Shared investment

Investment and return are shared between the bank and 4POWER across the network.

    Capital commitment — shared

    Transaction-linked

Commercials follow usage, so cost scales with the volume each site actually generates.

    Capital commitment — lowest
    Why it matters for banks

More reach, at a fraction of the commitment.

    01

    Expand physical reach faster

    Reduce the cost of expansion

Use smaller spaces, lighter fit-outs and fewer on-site staff.

    03

    Extend banking availability

Offer key services beyond normal branch hours through self-service infrastructure.

    04

    Improve customer convenience

    05

    Protect the customer relationship

Keep the bank's brand and service presence visible in the community.

    06

Turn service points into acquisition points

Enable account opening, KYC and loan application journeys directly from the site.

    07

    Support cash-heavy customers

Provide secure cash deposit, withdrawal and payment capability in high-demand locations.

    08

    Scale with evidence

Test catchments, review transaction volumes, adjust the format and scale where demand is proven.
